I have tried and tried to stream GD shows but media player 10 is unable to connect to stream. A few shows work but 99.9% of the shows are unable to connect to stream. I just wanted to know if this is a problem on my end or a problem with the live music archive? 21 views and no answers yet? Can anyone stream any of the music on the Live Music Archive? Yes? No?

no. who ever is running this site fucked it up.
if it aint broke, don't fix it.
if you need SBDs. try to find someone to trade with, or do a B&P with. i would , but i am to busy to help. maybe someday i will start trading the over 1000 SBDs GD shows i have.
until then, good luck

I can add a possible bug report for engineers, but not without a few examples. If you can provide non-GD examples as well if it's part of a wider pattern (99% of all shows? examples should be easy to find for you), that would help. Thanks!

Also, does it happen with just that media player, or what happens if you try another one?

BTW there are other known quirks with swaths of the specific GD collection post-transition, that are on the to-fix list.

i had some issues with not just the dead but other streams as well. the code is something like lma doesnt recognise this format then re click 5 -20 times and it finally loads so i went back to sugarmegs so much easier and no pauses between songs .if it happens again ill copy the exact code and send it to you . yes diana(and all the rest too)does a good job maybe she needs a promotion. btw as i enter my tour season i hope to have a handful of new artists to add woohoo

If you have a computer you can see for yourself. Try going to any streaming show from any artist and see if you can play the show. I only use media player 10 so I couldn't tell you if another player would work. If you need further instructions let me know. Your name looks like an American name so I assume you speek english?

If you don't use the site yourself then you have no right even trying to answer peoples questions. I should have your job I know more of whats going on than you it seems.

This random example streams for me in my default player (foobar2000), and also in Windows Media Player 9 (I don't have ver 10 installed):

Perhaps it's simply a problem at your end, not the archive's. Without any specific examples, additional troubleshooting is not possible.

I guess windows products no longer work on this site since everything is being switched to Flash Player? I can live without this site. So long

Per my other post, WMP9 works. And I just installed and tried WMP10. Works just fine. This is obviously a problem specific to your PC software/configuration. So long? Seems a silly reason to bail on LMA outright, but...your loss.

Okay, you guys scared me. I checked my own band's page. It's got the stream box. I hit the play button and it worked perfectly. I even tried a couple of different gigs, and THEY worked perfectly. Just for fun I then tried switching tracks mid-stream, and THAT worked perfectly.
I'm not too fond of the redesign. I wish you would put the Lossless option up with the MP3 option instead of making my more illiterate fans have to search way down to the bottom of the page to find the individual downloadable Lossless tracks.
Lighten up on ALL mods here. They are indeed volunteers, and have assisted me while jumping through hoops when i was first learning how to upload here.
Anyhow, for what they are worth, you now have my 2cents worth of input.
Thanks for everything LMA. I love you guys (and gals).

Not sure, but I think you may be asking about the lossless zip versions? If so, our webmistress said here earlier:

-due to space issues, SHN and FLAC zips have *not* been retained. we plan to have "zip on the fly" working but it is reportedly quite buggy right at the moment and we will work to fix that. we might try to come up with a better way to make it easy for folks to download all the SHN or FLAC or VBR MP3s or 64kb MP3s for an item. we are doing our best to work on this.

So, sorry for the necessary delay while they figure things out with that!

Or if you meant something else, if you could describe what you're seeing on an example details page, let me know! (like if "up" is ref to a location on a page)

Thanks for the specifics. FWIW, the GD link and the above DTB stream just fine for me via Media Player Classic, Foobar2000, and WMP9 on Win2K and WMP10 on WinXP. Definitely something specific to your setup. Have you tried uninstalling / re-installing WMP10 and rebooting in the process?

Alright dig this all these problems are from my modem, I went to Panera Bread and logged on there network and had no problems streaming music! All this time and effort and the problem was solved by resetting my modem.
